At Morning Star Kennels we strive to make sure every potential puppy owner is fully educated and prepared prior to purchasing a puppy. We highly recommend every buyer do their research on this breed before committing. Siberian Huskies are a high energy breed and as such are not the right fit for everyone. To help make sure that all potential clients are ready for their future family member we have a Puppy Application that we ask everyone to fill out. This helps us get to know you and what you are looking for in a puppy so that we can help ensure you are getting what you want, as well as making sure you know the traits of the breed and are prepared for them. After your application has been submitted and reviewed you will be placed on the waiting list. For the puppy application, deposit agreement, or health guarantee send us a message and we will email them to you or you can check our documents page and download or copy and paste them.
Names on the regular waiting list go in order that they are received. You can get on the regular waiting list at any time whether their is a litter currently due or for a future litter. There is no fee to be put on the regular waiting list. We also have a reservation list for each specific litter/pairing. You can reserve 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pick male or female for a $200 reservation fee. This guarantees your pick and spot for that litter. This is a non refundable reservation fee specifically for the litter you choose. If you are uncertain exactly what litter you want a pup from we recommend choosing the regular waiting list instead, or if you are wanting a very specific coat color/eye color that may take several litters to be produced we also recommend the general waiting list. This reservation fee can be transferred to another future litter should there either 1) not be enough puppies born for your pick to be made or 2) in the instance where you reserved for a specific sex and that sex is not available in that litter. This reservation fee is transferrable up to 2 years from initial placement. Should there ever be a miscarriage of pups or death of dam, or other health related issue with the litter you placed a reservation fee on you can either transfer to a future litter or receive a refund of your fee. The reservation fee comes off the total due at pick up. When we have litters born we generally wait until between 3 and 4 weeks for picks to be made so that the pups eyes are completely open. This way those with a preference on eye color can make informed choices. Once eyes are open we go through our reservation list first, and if there are additional puppies available then we go through our current general waiting list. If any pups are available after both lists then they will be available for new applicants. Note: Some litters picks may be made later if we are keeping puppies back ourselves as we may be waiting on embark results and evaluations.
Please note we do not breed specifically for eye color, coat color, or coat type. We breed for overall health, temperament, trainability, and conformation. We understand people have preferences and try to cater to that as much as possible, however we personally love all the variations within the Siberian Husky breed.
If you are on the general waiting list once your pick is made you can then place your reservation fee. We have a reservation agreement contract that both parties sign. A non-refundable reservation fee of $200 ensures your pick of the litter. The balance is due at pick up in cash. AKC limited registration is $1100 and full registration with approval is $1500.
All our pups will come with their AKC registration pre paid by us, all new owners will need to do is decide on a registered name by their go home day. Our pups will come with 30 days free Trupanion insurance. All pups are also offered 30 days free though one of AKC's sponsors. If each activated at the right time this will provide the first 2 months of insurance for free(we will go over this with you at pick up). All our pups will come with a Fi Nano microchip(fi nano has no registration fees or yearly fees) and be started on heartworm, parasite, and flea prevention with Preventer Plus.
There is a $50 discount for all military(active or retired), first responders(fire, ems, police), teachers, and medical(doctors, physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, etc). To receive the discount please bring your ID/proof of job at time of puppy pick up/delivery.
We also offer a return client appreciation discount. All previous clients will receive 10% off their total price, this can be used in combination with the $50 discount mentioned above, and can be used for either registration type. We are also offering a referral credit for previous clients. For each successful referral you will receive a $100 dollar credit that can be used at anytime towards a puppy. A successful referral is when you refer someone and they follow through with the purchase of a puppy.
We offer a 1 year genetic health guarantee with all of our puppies. All puppies will be dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. Their first set of shots will be done by a licensed DVM along with a health check and fecal. Puppies are available to go home at 8 weeks of age(no exceptions).
We are located in Cape Carteret, NC 28584. We offer delivery up to 50 miles out for no fee, further delivery is available depending on schedules for cost of travel. Our delivery rate past the first 50 miles is $0.85 per loaded mile(subject to change based on gas prices). We can deliver generally within about 4-5 hours of our location. If you are further out you can either meet us part way or you can hire a shipper.
For those who are further away we do allow ground shipping. We can work with you and you can either choose your own shipper or we can find one for you. Keep in mind the average cost of ground shipping within the continental US is around $250-$500, cost of shipping is the buyers responsibility. We do not offer commercial air shipping at this time. However if you yourself(or a family member/trusted friend) want to fly in and fly back with your puppy that can be arranged. Or you can hire a "flight nanny" to fly your pup to you. Depending on our personal schedules one of us here at Morning Star Kennels may be available to be a flight nanny for your puppy also. Our closest major airport is the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. We also have a smaller airport nearby, Albert J Ellis Airport, that may have flights. Keep in mind if flying the cost is buyers responsibility. You are responsible for booking the flight for the pup, and the flight nanny both to you and home/round trip(if choosing the flight nanny option), as well as the fee for a flight nanny if choosing that option. The benefit of a flight nanny is your pup doesn't have to be flown in cargo and instead gets to fly with the nanny. The average cost of a flight nanny within the US is $500-$600 + the cost of the ticket(s). Also keep in mind any particular requirements your state/country has when shipping animals(For example Florida requires a health certificate). Any such requirements are at the buyer's expense. Also keep in mind for flying/shipping that flights/transport with animals are more limited since covid so finding and scheduling a flight/transport may take time.
One last note here. Given the current state of the world we are not allowing any in home visits. We have always tried to limit in home visits due to risks to the pups, such as parvo and other viruses that can be tracked in on someone's shoe/clothes/etc. This is also our family home where we are raising our young son. However now with Covid added in the risk to the puppies and our health is just too great overall. We are however available 24/7 for video chats with your pup, and we provide very frequent updates. Depending on vet availability/scheduling if you are local you may have the chance to see your pup at the vets on their check up and shots day. We go to Banfield(vet inside PetSmart) so its open to the public. If you are buying a pup(or just enjoy huskies) I highly recommend you to follow our Facebook page and Instagram as we post videos and pictures regularly of puppies, as well as announce pairings and pregnancy confirmations.
Also be sure to check out our females and males pages to see our dams and sires. Their pedigrees and embark results are available under their profiles also.

ABOUT US AND OUR DOGS
We are a small family of 3. It is myself(Robbie), my fiancé(Jimmy), and our 7 year old son Robert. In addition to our 7 adult Siberian huskies and 2 younger husky pups we also have a 8 year old cat, and 4 horses. All of our dogs and puppies are kept and raised inside. I myself am home most every day so they all get ample attention and play time. We have a fenced yard for outdoor play and we also take them out on bike rides weather permitting which thankfully here on the coast of NC it normally is. Our dogs are part of our family. They sleep in our bed and lay on the couch with us. Our puppies are raised in the same manner as true members of our family. They are whelped and spend their first days in my bedroom. We custom built our whelping box to fit exactly at the foot of our bed. That way I never miss a single peep. If they whine, if they move, if they sneeze, if they do anything I am right there. The first weeks of life are crucial and I do not take any chances. Once they are toddling around they are moved to an ex-pen(exercise pen) where they have more room to stretch their growing bodies and start to learn potty training. Our ex-pens are inside our home also. From day one we handle our pups regularly and love on them so they come pre-spoiled and ready to give all their love to their new families. We also do ENS(early neurological stimulation) starting at 3 days old, and start grooming and nail trims the first week and continue them at least weekly to help get them used to being handled. All our pups are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks as recommended and will go home with their first shots from a licensed DVM as well as a fecal and general health check. As they grow and get old enough they are socialized with the other dogs in our home as well as our cat so that they are used to other animals. They are also litter trained starting between 3 and 4 weeks and then around 5-6 weeks they are started on outdoor potty training. Please note no 8 week old puppy is ever fully potty trained. 8 weeks isn't old enough to do so nor are their bladders yet capable of holding it for more than a couple hours at a time. However we do our best to start the fundamentals early to help you and your pup as you grow and learn together. All our puppies(and our adults) are raised on Purina pro plan. We personally prefer the Sport 30/20 original formula as it has done well for all our mature dogs and puppies(it is a all life stages food). All our puppies go home with a generous puppy pack. This will include(but is not limited to) All their AKC paperwork(registration pre paid), AKC Litter certificate, vet records, 30 days free Trupanion insurance, breed and puppy info, generous sample of food, Purina pro plan coupon for food, Purina pro plan puppy folder, treats, toys, blanket, and a leash and collar. We strive to make sure that you and your pup have everything you need for success in life together. We also offer lifetime breeder support. This means we are here to help and answer any questions you may have along the way to the best of our ability for the entire lifetime of your dog. No question is too big or small. If there is anything we didn't answer here on our info page about our dogs, our pups, or ourselves please send us a message and we'll be happy to get back to you.
